Parkside Lunatic Asylum exhibition

A quiet sense of dark desolation permeates the walls of the remaining buildings of the Parkside Lunatic Asylum. While progress has seen many of these structures remodelled and repurposed, the sobering history of this space serves as a reminder that they way in which we perceive mental health has not always been as accepting. The pieces within this exhibition offer a chance of quiet reflection on our own preconceived ideas of mental health. It also provides an opportunity to start the conversation as to how we can support those experiencing mental health crises move beyond the darkness.
